Child Mentoring
What is Child Mentoring?
At Bloom & Bee Coaching, child mentoring gives children a safe, supportive space to explore their feelings, build confidence, and learn skills that help them thrive.
Mentoring isn’t about “fixing” children — it’s about walking alongside them, listening, and helping them discover their own strengths. Whether a child is struggling with friendships, big emotions, behaviour, or simply needs extra encouragement, mentoring offers gentle guidance and practical tools they can use every day.
What happens in a session?
Each mentoring session is child-led and personalised, designed to meet your child’s unique needs. Sessions may include:
-
Talking through worries or experiences in a safe and supportive way
-
Fun, creative activities (stories, games, role-play, art) to explore feelings and build skills
-
Practising strategies for confidence, resilience, and social skills
-
Relaxation or calming techniques to support emotional regulation
Sessions are engaging and interactive, so children feel comfortable and understood while learning tools they can use at home, in school, and beyond.
How mentoring can help
At home – Support with behaviour, sibling relationships, routines, or big emotions that can feel overwhelming.
At school – Confidence with friendships, social skills, resilience in the classroom, and strategies for managing challenges like anxiety or focus.
Home Education - A nurturing space where children can explore feelings, build confidence, and practise social and emotional skills that support their learning journey. Mentoring helps them grow not only in their education but also in their wellbeing, friendships, and everyday life.
How it works
-
Sessions are usually around 45 minutes — long enough for children to settle in and engage, but not so long that they become tired. This timing can be adjusted slightly depending on your child’s needs.
-
Sessions are generally online so they fit easily into family life, though in-person options may be possible depending on where you’re based.
-
Parents receive updates and guidance, so strategies can continue at home
Mentoring is about helping your child to feel seen, heard, and valued — and giving them the confidence and resilience to bloom.
